THE CFVRt MINIATURE RAILWAY
The CFVRt considered by many the finest 5 inch gauge railway in Spain, located in the city of Riba-roja de Turia distant from Valencia 20 km., was opened in November of 1989. Since then the railway has seen many changes including new stations, locomotive stock sheds and railway extensions and some automations like the traffic lights and others, shortly we’ll have crossing gates also automatic and more work will be done to improve the railway . Nowadays the complex convoluted costumer track measure more than 600 meters, including a short tunnel. The route includes bridges over a ravine and two ponds and sidings.
The railway locomotives are powered by steam, petrol & batteries.
Passengers begin and end their journey at Turia Station, which is a covered one, except for the special trains that live at 12:00 and 13:00 and begin and finish at Término Station.
We get also a well equipped workshop, a locomotive turntable area, a train inspection pit and locomotive pounds.
At the busiest times, service is provided by running more than four train sets at once.
Our railway is open all Sundays* from 11:00 to13:30 departing on demand every few minutes, also we open some bank holidays. We organise especial events as our “Encuentro” (meeting with many similar associations in* the second Saturday of September) and the “Vaporada” (similar event but with only steam locomotives)
There are several picnic benches near the Turia Station and under the canopy of trees.
Also there are two play grounds for children of different ages.
Our members will ensure that you have a safe, interesting &friendly journey on all of our trains.
The railway is operated entirely by volunteers and funded by passenger contributions.
